Loops Recap
In this chapter, we learned how to work with loops in Python. We found out that:
We use loops when we need to repeat a part of the code.
- The
whileloop allows us to repeatedly execute a block of code as long as the condition is true. - The
forloop allows us to iterate over an array and execute a block of code for each element of the array. - The
breakstatement terminates the loop prematurely. - The
continuestatement skips the current iteration and proceeds to the next iteration. - We can use
breakandcontinuestatements for bothwhileandforloops. - We generally use the
whileloop when we don't know how many times it will need to repeat, and theforloop when we know how many times it will need to repeat. - We can iterate through characters in a string using either a
forloop or awhileloop. - Loops can be nested, which means one loop can be inside another. This is useful when working with multiple arrays or nested arrays.
Congratulations on completing the lesson on loops! In the next lesson, we will look at functions. They will help us write more efficient and readable code, which is essential for solving more complex problems.
