The Camp's Page

Time for a small project! In this checkpoint, you'll build a web page on your own, using what you've learned in the first two lessons: the skeleton of a page, headings, paragraphs, lists and highlighted text.

The exercises here are a bit different from the ones so far. The instructions say what the page should show, not how to write it, and the checks look at the finished page in the preview, not at your code. There is often more than one correct way, so pick the one that makes sense to you. If you get stuck, look back at the lesson where you learned what you need.

The project. Beaver Creek Summer Camp needs a web page for the kids who are coming and for their parents. Over three exercises, you'll build it: first the page with its heading and an introduction, then the daily program and a packing list, and finally where and when the camp takes place. Each exercise continues where the previous one ended: the editor starts with a finished page from the previous step, which may look different from yours. That's fine.

The task. This time, the editor is empty, and you'll write the whole page, including the parts that the editor kept in the background in the second lesson: the document type declaration, the html element, the head element with the character set and the title, and the body element.

The title of the page is Beaver Creek Summer Camp, and the page shows the same words as its main heading. Below the heading comes this introduction:

Two weeks of hiking, swimming and campfires by the lake for kids aged 8 to 12, from July 6 to July 19.

The dates are what parents look for first, so mark July 6 to July 19 as important.

Instructions

Make the page a complete HTML document: it starts with the document type declaration and has the character set utf-8 and the title Beaver Creek Summer Camp.

In the body of the page, show the main heading and below it the introduction, with the dates marked as important.
